The world is currently trying to classify humans by macro-level symbols (gender, nationality, digital/AI). But within that classification, are we truly experiencing our own "life"?
I continue to experiment in the extremely domestic (everyday) living spaces of Japan, overlapping my physical body with others and stripping away the boundaries between us.
When I shed my clothes and bring the camera lens as close as possible to the details of skin—body hair, wrinkles, the curves of the body distorted by body heat—social attributes (symbols) completely disappear.
What emerges there is a wildness called "intimacy," which transcends beauty and ugliness.
Where does "I (Me)" end and "You " begin? It is at the moment when that boundary dissolves that a universal document (proof of existence) of the human being, which technology and social norms can never replace, is etched.
